As summer begins to turn into fall, we want to help you take care of your health. With back-to-school activities, busy schedules, and cooler weather, we know staying well can be more difficult. Below, we have listed a few reminders for you to keep yourself in tip-top shape this autumn.
Flu Vaccination
Fall is a great time to schedule your fall vaccinations as the flu virus begins to circulate again in the colder months. We offer the flu vaccination, so come on in and get yours as soon as possible. Getting your flu shot reduces your likelihood of severe illness that could send you to the hospital.
Testing for Seasonal Allergens
Fall is another peak period for allergies such as ragweed. Don’t let yourself suffer from bothersome seasonal allergy symptoms. We also provide skin testing for allergies at our office. This will help you identify which allergens you need to avoid.
Prepare Your Body for Fall Sports
Sports such as football will be starting back up soon. So will the potential for injuries for many players out there. We recommend drinking plenty of water before, during, and after practice/games and preparing your body by staying in shape to stay safe on the field.
Eating nutrient-dense foods that are high in protein and carbs will give you the energy you need to make it through games. Staying in shape during the off-season ensures that your body doesn’t get overloaded, or worse, injured when you get back into the routine. It is also important to do exercises that help you maintain your strength, flexibility, and endurance. Doing this will help you get your body acclimated to hot temperatures.
